THE AUTHOR ADOPTED THE FOLLOWING CONCEPT IN ALL HIS BOOKS:
to save time of managers who work under time pressure and time-frames all his books have comprehensive index for easy location of topics adopt an easy-to-read style of writing to prevent readers becoming bored managers need updated information to make good decisions real-life worked examples are better than a lot words of explanation explanations must be precise but comprehensive: in short sentences the book must not waste the time of managers with too much details avoid legal jargons - instead, explain the topics in layman's language
The above concept was adopted based on the opportunity the author had in working/discussing with hundreds of officers/managers in various organisations, having started his first employment in February 1960, thus spanning over a period of 60 years, consisting of the period in THE FEDERAL TREASURY, MINISTRY OF FINANCE, the INLAND REVENUE DEPARTMENT (now IRBM), external audits of hundreds of companies during his 6 years in Kuala Lumpur, Brunei, Kota Kinabalu, Ipoh and Penang offices of COOPERS & LYBRAND (now PRICEWATERHOUSECOOPERS), an international audit firm, and at board level in three multinational manufacturing companies for over 20 years as finance director.
He observed that, as managers get higher and higher in the hierarchy of management, they have little time for details due to their wider span of responsibilities and, therefore, they -
(1) want to have a precise but comprehensive background information; (2) want to know the problem, which requires their decision, in a nutshell; and (3) want to be provided with the recommended solution to the problem.
ALL THE BOOKS WRITTEN BY THIS AUTHOR, FOLLOW THESE 3 ELEMENTS:
